Avalanche at Red Wings 3/1/10: Monday's Free Hockey Winner

By: CTS Guest Capper     Date: Mar 1, 2010
Print Article

After what was the best olympic hockey games ever we now turn our attention back to the NHL. Today we have back Guest Handicapper George Pappas. George is the top Hockey Handicapper in the world today with an amazing record to show for it. You guys have asked for more free hockey picks and we are very proud to be able to bring George's free picks for rest of this NHL season.

Today George's free hockey play is the only NHL game on the board featuring Colorado and Detroit. If you like these free plays then you will love his Premium Plays even more, check them out at HOT SPORTS PLAYS .com!

Over 5.5: This is the fourth and final meeting of the regular season. The Avalanche shocked the fans back in October by beating the Red Wings on consecutive Saturday nights, rallying for a 4-3 shootout win in Detroit on Oct. 17 and following up with a 3-1 victory in Colorado on Oct. 24. In the most recent meeting, the Red Wings won 4-2 on New Year's Eve. Which leaves the series 2-1 in favor of the Avalanche

Just over 24 hours after leading Team Canada to Olympic gold in Vancouver, Coach Babcock is back behind the bench for the Red Wings, a team that hasn't missed the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 20 years but starts the stretch run 10 th in the Western Conference. They have the chance to move past Dallas and Calgary into eighth with a victory Monday. Meanwhile, forward Paul Stastny of the Avalanche and defenseman Brian Rafalski of the Red Wings, teammates for the silver-medalist Americans, find themselves back in opposing jerseys.

The thing that stands out at me in this game is the fact that the Red Wings are battling for a playoff spot. Expect a big game from the Red Wings especially since they are getting back to being healthy and working out all the kinks. With both goaltenders coming off of a 2 week layoff, I expect them to be slightly rusty and not up to prime as they were before the Olympic break. High shooting style game from both teams will send this one over the posted total!

Thanks again to our Guest Hockey Handicapper George Pappas make sure you get all of his winning hockey plays at HOT SPORTS PLAYS .com!
