The NFL previews continue today and with NFL camps starting open most teams are still playing for the Super Bowl but not in Buffalo. The Bills had a great start to last season but the second half of the season they were downright pitiful. Even worse the offseason did not help give their fan much hope for improvement in 2010. Still lets give our full team breakdown and our prediction on wins for this season.
Offensively this team has been looking for their next great QB since Jim Kelly retired what seems like 10 years ago. This season is no different as this offense has more questions than answers as they have not settled on starter at QB or RB. Only good news is they might have scored one of the most exciting college players from last year as they drafted CJ Spiller. Spiller does have a ton of carries under his belt and has been banged up a bunch in college. This team had a decent offensive line in years past but this year think it might be their achilles heal. Last year this team was very limited and think even a new coach can't help this offense.
Not a terrible defense last year specially early as they carried this team to a great start. That did not continue as they really fell off finishing near the bottom half of every defensive category. New coach Chan Gailey has decided to switch to the 3-4 defense for 2010 and this might fit their really large defensive tackles much better than last years 4-3. The secondary was not terrible last year and with most back they should be better than average. Big problem is that last year they could not stop the run so the secondary really never had to be tested.
On a better team this special teams unit could really come in handy. With Lindell as place kicker they really upgrade at that position. Plus punter Moorman is in the top 5 punters in most categories. But the kick and punt returner Parish is what makes this special teams really stand out. Might be able to get this offense much better field position which they need as they can't move the ball consistently.
Odds for Buffalo Bills 2010
- Over Under Total wins 5.5
- Odds to win 2011 Super Bowl +10000
- Odds to win AFC East +2500
- Odds to win AFC Championship +5000
This team is really up against it in 2010 with a terrible offense, bad QB play, and a ton of questions on defense. Chan Gailey might have wished he did not take this job as they will be lucky to get 4 wins this year. Really love the Under 5.5 wins here as they might have the toughest division in all of football, plus a tough schedule to boot.
