Handicapping MLB: Schedule & Road Trip Betting Tips

By: CTS Guest Capper     Date: Jul 6, 2009
Print Article

When looking at which games to place your hard earned money on first examine Sports Handicapper Craig Trapp's top two tips. Even the worst MLB teams play around five hundred baseball at home. Also Road trips can either bring a team together or wear down a team and bring them a string of losses. Craig will give you his trends and tips for both.

Schedule: One of Craig's top tips is Night Games followed by Day Games. Most good teams in MLB have several key veterans that are usually given rest in these situations. So make sure you really examine a teams depth and make sure you like the team even without a key veteran player. In these key situations Craig loves young home teams in the following day games as they are usually the underdog and they represent big value.

Road Trips: Ever notice that teams that have to travel a long way really struggle in game 1 of a series. This really comes true when one of the coast teams travel cross country. Craig takes always pays special attention to the Home team when they are underdogs. Even an inferior team at home in these situations usually represent great value. This is a definite betting advantage and is one to be taken advantage of.

Get Away Day: This is the term for the end of the series last game. Now this can be tricky as the team that leaving to go on the road is usually at a disadvantage. Many times in this case the team that is looking forward to a road trip has a ton of things going thru their head. This can be very distracting specially to young teams. Craig really likes playing the away team in the situation where they are headed home after the game. These teams usually want to end the road trip in a positive way and with the home team distracted can really be a winning tip.

Of course no matter the schedule or road trip ahead you must look at every situation carefully. The best Sports Handicappers are great at taking these situations and deciding to take or not to take the betting value they represent.
