#1 Seed (104-0):Eventually one of these teams will lose but not thus far. Also these teams make the sweet 16 over 85% of the time.
#2 seed (100-4):Surprisingly enough they only make the Sweet 16 just over 65% of the time.
#3 seed (88-16): Some of the biggest upsets over the years come from this seed.
#4 seed (82-22): Think this is the most over valued seed as they usually don't do nearly as good as we think, evidence of that is the record of (17-39) verse the #1 seed in the sweet 16.
#5 seed (69-35): The famous 5-12 seed matchup is know for the great upsets and the last 10 years their has been an average of nearly 2 #12 seeds advance.
#6 seed (71-33): As you can see nearly just as many upsets in both the 5 and 6 seeds.
#7 seed (62-42):Not much difference in a 7 and 10 seed except that we have seen in recent years nearly every year at least one #7 seed makes the sweet 16.
#8 seed (48-56):Flip a coin could not get any closer over history.
#9 seed (56-48): only one team Penn in 1979 has mad the Final Four.
#10 seed (42-62):Davidson in recent history was just a few plays away from making Final Four but no other #10 seed has made it to the Final Four.
#11 seed (33-71):Interesting enough more #11 seeds have made Final Four recently with George Mason in 2006.
#12 seed (35-69): Early in tournament they are always active with upsets but after that we usually see this team fall hard.
#13 seed (22-82): Think in future years we will see this to be upset game in first round as the depth of college basketball makes it much easier.
#14 seed (16-88):Only two sweet 16 teams since 1985.
#15 seed (4-100):Never a team with a 15 seed has made the Final Four.
#16 seed (0-104):One of these days a #1 will go down, hope its not a team I like.
Use these records just as you would study history in school. Just have fun with the NCAA Tournament as that is what this time of year is all about.
