Sean's CAA Tourney Notes

The Faves - Drexel at 16-2 in conference and VCU at 15-3 are the Top Seeds. Let's not overlook George Mason who went 14-4 and Old Dom at 13-5.. Did I mention Delaware went 12-6 in conference play. I for one am discounting the Blue Hens here. I am actually playing on underdog Towson against them in their first round matchup. The beat Mason who had a look ahead to Old Dom the next game 65-60. They also beat Drexel. I will give them a bit of credit for that. But That was back on December 3rd! Drexel started out 2-4 and 5 of those were on the road. Delaware got smoked 71-55 on the road.

For me the Dragons defense is key. VCU is the 'name brand' of the conference. George Mason and Old Dom both can end up playing for the championship here. I think this conference should get 2 bids, possibly a 3rd if Drexel and VCU both fall short of winning.

Middle of the Pack- I see one team that could make a little noise. That is Georgia State. They are a 20 win bunch and play smoe good defense. The rest of the conference is not ready for prime time.

My Sleeper. ~ Old Dom. This team just always seems to find a way to win. If it gets by the Delaware/Towson winner it should set up a meet with #1 seed Drexel who they lost to 73-72.
