Tennessee Titans '09 Preview and Predictions

By: CTS Guest Capper     Date: Aug 22, 2009
Print Article

Last year saw the Titans make a gigantic leap and top record in league at 13-3. Following up those expectations will be even more difficult as they will not surprise anyone in 2009. Oddsmakers have shown the Titans a ton more respect this year making them a (+2000) to win the 2010 Superbowl! Also the over under wins on Tennessee for 2009 is 9 wins. Today Sports Handicapper Craig Trapp will continue his preview and predictions for the 2009 football season.

Last year the Titans really surprised teams early in the year and even though they got the job done offensively they never were dominant. Offensively the Titans go into 2009 looking to be more explosive on offense. In 2008 the Titans relied mostly on a solid running game to carry them through out the season. This year they went out and got two solid WR's to help the downfield passing game. Both Nate Washington and Kenny Brit should give this team a much needed deep game breaking threats. Look for the offense to be even better in 2009.

The Titans have back almost every starter from last years best defense. But the one that got away just happens to be the best player in football. Albert Haynesworth was the most dominant player on this defense and replacing him might be tough. Don't look for the Titans to replace Albert with just one player instead they will look for a the defensive line as a group to pick up the slack. The best news for this defense is the secondary is all back. One of the best secondaries in football will be tested once again as there schedule has a ton of great passing teams.

Losing Haynesworth will most likely cost this team three to four wins. Without a doubt they are still a very solid team and 9 wins is a lock. Take the over 9 wins and love it! Still not sure if they can beat the top end teams in the AFC but a playoff win is definitely a possibility.
