The NBA season is rolling right along and the teams are starting to show their true colors. Finding winners is not nearly as easy now that the oddsmakers have adjusted the betting lines to reflect teams current status instead of last seasons stats. Good thing we have our free picks for all you NBA bettors. Today we have two really nice winners provided to us by Handicapper Craig Trapp. Los Angeles Clippers at Memphis Grizzlies (-3): This game is not going to be pretty to watch but it will put money in our pockets. The Grizzlies have finally seperated from the Iverson experiment and now can show off the young talented players they have accumulated. OJ Mayo is one of the best young combo guards in the NBA and now he can continue to grow instead of having to share the ball with AI. The Grizzlies have played good in spurts this season but have not been able to put many complete games together. One of the games that they played a complete game was in a close loss to the LA Clippers on Nov 7th. They did not win but the Clippers had fits trying to stop Rudy Gay. In fact Gay is averaging over 28 points in his career verse the Clippers. On the other side the LA Clippers have played horrible lately losing 4 of last 5 since beating the Grizzlies earlier this month. This team seems lost on the offensive end of the court with no real on the court leader. Baron Davis was brought in to be the go to guy but is only averaging 15 pts per game while shooting under 38 percent from the field. The Clippers are coming off a road loss last night in New Orleans. They arrived in very late last night and are going to be up against it with a lack of depth on the bench. Clippers aren't good add in a back to back game this spells trouble. Easy winner as the young Grizzlies get healthy with a confidence building blowout here. MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES -3 (4 out of 5 star play) Houston Rockets (-5.5) at Minnesota Timberwolves: The Houston Rockets started the season on fire winning the first three games but since then they have been alternating wins and losses. Good news for Rocket bettors today because they lost last night at home to Phoenix. The other good news is that Houston has dominated the Wolves winning the last eight games played with a 7-0-1 ATS record. The Rockets are definately a surprise so far this season but its not a fluke that theyare playing so well. This team plays great defense and is the best jump shooting team in the league shooting over 40 percent outside of the lane. The player that has really carried the Rockets so far this season is Aaron Brooks, averaging over 18 points and 6 assists per game. If Brooks can dominate Rookie PG Flynn look for the Rockets to pull off another easy win verse the Wolves. The Minnesota Timberwolves have lost 10 in a row and are hoping that the return of Al Jefferson will make a difference. The question really will be how long will Jefferson be able to go and what kind of game shape is he in. Hard to imagine that Jefferson can be counted to carry the load but not sure the Wolves have much choice. One of the youngest teams in the league has not been a good combination so far this season as Minnesota is 1-10 thus far this season. They are not quite as bad ATS with a record of 4-7 but they have lost 6 in a row ATS. No way this one is even close. Lucky this is a back to back game or this spread would be plus ten points. Don't worry about the back to back as Houston is a young team that has dominated this Wolves team the last 3 years. Houston lays the wood here and wins going away, double digit win no problem. HOUSTON ROCKETS -5.5 (4.5 out of 5 star play).
