The most dominant team in College Football the last 10 years without a question has been the USC Trojans. Every year this great coaching staff and unbelievable recruiting classes have been able to keep up there success. But could this be the year that all the early NFL Draft entries comes back to bite them in the rear? Last years best defense in college football loses every good player except one and the offenses did not expect to lose QB Mark Sanchez.
Coaches and the athletic department did not make it easy on this years team with an easy schedule. Early in the season they have a huge trip to the Horseshoe in Columbus, Ohio to take on the Buckeyes. The Bucks will be ready as they were embarrassed after last years dominating win by USC. But it does not stop there they also have to go to a much improved Notre Dame, California and at Oregon. Both the Duck and Cal are loaded this year and along with Oregon State will be trying to knock off USC from there high horse.
Defense has been the calling card of this USC team the last two years and a ton of young talented players will have huge shoes to fill. Hard to imagine that these young men will be able to carry the load as last years defense did. As the season progresses they will surely improve but early on they will be hit for some big plays and cause at least a few losses.
Offensively the QB position is so important in College Football. Every good team last year had great QB play and this years starter for the Trojans has zero experience. In fact there is no sure thing at QB for the Trojans but Aaron Corp looks to have the inside track. Corp is a redshirt Sophomore who many compare more to Booty than Sanchez. The other skilled positions are basically all returning so if Corp can catch on quick he should have a great season. Hard to hang your hat on a National Championship chase with an unproven QB no matter what school you back.
Predicting this years PAC 10 is very hard. But one thing for sure is that the Trojans will have company at the top. Don't look for USC to run away with an easy PAC 10 title again this year. National Championship is out of the question for the Trojans as they will lose at least 2 games but they still will have a chance to get a Rose Bowl appearance.
