Sean Higgs NFL Team Wins Best Bets

League: All Leagues

Way back in July when the NFL Regular season win total were released I did a radio show where I had a couple team totals I thought were good buys. Well, nothing has really changed in my thinking. I try not to put much stock into pre-season games unless there is a drastic injury to really ruffle a teams feathers.

I have just returned from signing up for the Super Contest at the Hilton, or Westgate and these are the current totals courtesy of William Hill.

So that being said, here on my BEST BET Regular Season wins totals for the upcoming NFL season.

AFC EAST

NEW YORK JETS UNDER 6.5 - Now, I easily could have road the Patriots here. They have 11 straight seasons of 10 or more wins. But I am going with Gang Green UNDER the total. I had first saw this line at 7, it has dropped a half. Why? These guys were 8-8 last year. Geno Smith can't possible be worse and throw more than 21 INTs can he? Well maybe he can. Maybe the defense won't be playing on another level all year. I am sure the secondary will get exploited with a lack of CBs. They open with the Raiders. They should beat Oakland. After that, I can see them dropping 6 in a row before they get, maybe a winnable game at home vs the Bills. The Jets overachieved in my eyes last year. I see a regression this season. I will not be shocked if they win 3-5 games in 2014.

AFC WEST

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS UNDER 8.5 - Last year, I loved KC and the over. It was a perfect storm for Andy Reid. He took over a talented team, and was to face his old stomping grounds and former team in the NFC East. Recipe for success. This year, not so much. The NFC West is a tad better. They won't beat Seattle. Alex Smith won't exact revenge on the Niners. Even with the defensive injuries, I think Arizona is a better team. They also face the Patriots. Miami on the road is not an easy task.

NFC SOUTH

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS OVER 7.5 - This is one of, if not my TOP total. I love the Lovie Smith hiring. This guy will have this team turned around in a hurry. Let's face it. These guys quit on their coach last year. They were tired of him. The Bucs players will play hard for Lovie. The guy can coach. I like the offense. They have some playmakers. The recent trade for Mankins helps the line and the word says they will grab Ingonito also. Whatever you think about the guy, he can play and his teammates love him.

CAROLINA PANTHERS UNDER 8.5 - I can't believe this total. Not that there are any freebies or gifts, but I am jumping in with both feet here. Who is Cam throwing the ball to? He had Steve Smith who he could just chuck it to and the guy made plays for him. So he loses that, and has to make things happen behind a revamped line. Could be a recipe for disaster in my eyes. The defense is good. But that is putting an awful lot of pressure on a unit to consistently win games 13-10.

NFC WEST

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS UNDER 11.5 - I will fade the defending champs. Every team will bring their 'A' game here. I can't discount the defense. They are a top flight unit. But are they going to be 20+ in turnovers again. Is Lynch going to start showing signs of slowing down from his 'beast mode' seasons catching up with him. I am also not a fan of Russell Wilson. I'm not. He has Percy Harvin who has looked good this pre-season. But he has played 10 games the last 2 years. He lost Golden Tate who was the leading receiver. I'm not saying this isn't a championship caliber team. They can easily get back to the Super Bowl with this defense leading the way. But teams do get a bit of a hang-over after winning. In all fairness, these guys will probably be favored in all but a road game to San Fran. So this total actually looks low in my eyes begging you to go over.

There you have it. These are my TOP Regular Season win totals for the upcoming NFL season made exclusively here at Picks and Parlays.
